White Collar Gobal Wage Comparison
India’s white-collar workers are among the best paid in Asia. This is the outcome of the Loonwijzer-Monsterboard Wage Index, an international study of wages and labour market.
The study compares world wide the median wages of managers, professionals (in IT, finance, sales, accounting etc.), technicians, associate professionals and clerical support workers.
Not surprisingly are the managers the best-paid white-collar workers. When accounting for the different price levels, Indian managers make INR 231 per hour, compared to INR 112 in China. Indian professionals earn INR 172 per hour, compared to INR 96 in China and INR 81in Pakistan.
Technicians and associate professionals earn INR 123 per hour against almost INR 75 in China. Clerical support workers are the lowest paid of the 4 examined groups. They earn almost INR 60 per hour, the same as in China.
Workers in the US and Europe are the best paid in the world. Highest paid are workers in the US, where a manager earns INR 647 per hour, which is almost 3 times more than a managers pay in India.
