Centre cautions about arbitrary hiking of minimum wages by States - January 4, 2012
Inspite of fears of backlash regarding the Centre’s stand being against higher wages to the labourers, the Centre cautioned against cancellation of powers to fix wages under the MGNREGA scheme stating that this may lead to undue advantage of the scheme by the states in the form of arbitrarily hiking their 'minimum wages'.
